Outreach Storytime at the Local Schools

Our Youth Services Librarian visits and reads to the Early Childhood and Kindergarten classes at Wonewoc-Center School and St. Paul Lutheran School. These visits run all school year at 9:00 am on the first Tuesday of the month and alternate between schools from month to month.

The third Monday of the month starting in September and going through May from 6:00-7:00 p.m. This program is open to children from birth through elementary school age and their caregivers. Come in and practice your reading skills as you or your caregiver read your favorite book to our local therapy dog, Murphy and his owner, Deb Schultz. You can pick a book off of our shelves or bring your own to read. Please call or stop in to sign-up. Murphy and Deb are looking forward to seeing you!

 Wags ‘N Tales Reading Time

Read to Murphy on Mondays during the school year!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Did you know that…

*Children who are read to at an early age are more successful in school?

*Reading aloud to infants and children encourages social, emotional and cognitive development?

*Children who are read to have bigger vocabularies when they enter school?

If you read just one book a day with your child, you’ll reach 1,000 books in less than three years. The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program is a fun, exciting, and free way to start your child on the path to success! Any child ages birth to kindergarten can participate. Stop in to register your child and to start reading together today!
